Scholarship/Internship Elegibility

Summer Internship Program: Each student has the opportunity to intern during the summer prior to the senior year in a major biomedical physics/neuroscience research laboratory in the nation. The internship provides for the student an actual experience of working in the chosen field and more relationships with the leaders in the field for better opportunities of higher learning.

Stipends: Six stipends are offered every semester to ease financial hardship for some students to allow them to meet the rigor of the curriculum.

For an application Stipend Application [PDF, 165K]

Eligibility and Selection Criteria: Besides a general criterion of 3.0 GPA, a student must establish his/her interest in the particular field via a written essay and personal interviews. This is done to assure retention and successful graduation. Because of the novelty of the program and the intensity of the academic track, students must also commit to continual evaluation and active participation in the program. The students are ranked based on the GPA, score of the essay, letters of recommendation from their teachers, and performance in the interview with the program director. Scores of SAT, ACT, or AP exams are used as guides but are not part of the selection criteria.
